UO Unchained is a community of players united by a love of PvP and faction-based warfare. This Code of Conduct ensures the server remains enjoyable and respectful for all.

Core Principles

Play with Integrity

• No exploits, cheats, or hacks
• No real-money trading outside official channels
• Report bugs instead of abusing them
• Accept losses with grace

Respect the Community

• No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination
• Debate disagreements respectfully
• Support newer players
• Celebrate good competition

Play the Game Right

• Understand the rules before playing
• Accept PvP consequences (loss of items, death, capture)
• Don’t abuse mechanics (gate camping, spawn blocking, etc.)
• Follow staff decisions without harassment

Unacceptable Behavior

In-Game:

• Using third-party software (bots, macros beyond game-approved, exploits)
• Account selling or sharing
• Harassment or threats toward other players
• Spam or chat disruption
• Impersonating staff or famous players
• Exploiting bugs for competitive advantage
• Griefing (intentional, non-gameplay disruption)

On Forums/Discord:

• Hate speech, slurs, or discrimination
• Threats or doxing
• Spam or excessive self-promotion
• Posting exploits or cheat methods
• Impersonating staff or moderators
• Sexual content or harassment
• Discussion of illegal activities

Against Staff:

• Harassment or disrespect toward moderators and admins
• Attempting to bribe or manipulate staff decisions
• False reports or abuse of report systems
• Spreading conspiracy theories about staff conduct

Consequences

First Offense:

• Warning with explanation
• Temporary mute (chat) or suspension (1-3 days)

Second Offense:

• Extended suspension (7-30 days)
• Possible item or currency forfeit

Third Offense or Severe Violations:

• Permanent ban from server and forums
• Forfeiture of all in-game assets and donations (non-refundable)
• IP ban for egregious cases (hacking, doxxing, etc.)

Severe Violations (No Warning):

• Hacking or exploiting account security: Permanent ban
• Real-money trading: Permanent ban + IP ban
• Sexual harassment or threats: Permanent ban
• Hate speech or discrimination: Permanent ban

Appeals Process

If you believe your ban was unjust:

1. Wait 30 days from the ban date
2. Submit an appeal to appeals@uounchained.com
3. Include your username, ban date, and explanation
4. Appeals are reviewed by staff within 7 days
5. Staff decision is final

Do not create alternate accounts to bypass bans—this results in permanent IP bans for all associated accounts.

PvP Ethics

PvP is the heart of UO Unchained. Losing is part of the game. However:

• Don’t harass players after defeating them
• Don’t exploit spawn points or safe zones unfairly
• Don’t target new players repeatedly
• Accept that better players will win sometimes

Skill-based victory is earned, not given.

Staff Authority

Staff members (Moderators, Admins, Developers) have final authority on disputes and rule violations. They may:

• Warn, mute, suspend, or ban players
• Confiscate exploited items
• Rollback unauthorized transactions
• Make case-by-case judgments within reason

Staff decisions are not debatable in-game. Appeals are handled through the formal process above.

Community Standards

We expect players to:

• Assume good faith in others
• Report violations rather than respond with hostility
• Help new players learn the game and rules
• Celebrate competitive play, not personal attacks
• Remember real people are behind every character

UO Unchained thrives when the community polices itself with respect.

Changes to This Code

We may update this Code of Conduct as the server evolves. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Continued play constitutes acceptance.
